Words the Oxford English Dictionary Missed

In honor of election day, I wrote this one. I got inspired by a wonderful article on the OED in the NYTimes. A real word in the OED: “Builder’s bum is reportedly Brit. and colloq., ‘with allusion to the perceived propensity of builders to expose inadvertently this part of the body.’” Lovely!

Here’s an interesting blog about cartoons from the 50’s, and a collection of on-line cartoonists.

  1. In Australia we call a builder’s bum a plumber’s crack… In fact, there’s a whole wikipedia entry, if you’re interested: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plumber%27s_Crack

  2. 006′ed…I love it. Unfortunately, I know too many people who haven’t even been 006′d…they’ve really been 003′d or 004′d. Troubling.

I just discovered your site through hitting the Next Blog link — I’m really enjoying your cartoons!
